Theoretical Conflicts in Cinema Studies: on Alphaville, by Godard

The film Alphaville (Godard, 1965) is analyzed here in order to expose stylistic details which ask for a clarifying theoretical framework, connecting postmodernism and narrative theory. The analisys states the need of a research program that offers theoretical formulations which will revise cinema and television's historiography, and points out the large extension of cinematographic and televisive production ignored by the oppositional program, or to correct analytical distortions.Downloads
