Abstract

This pièce intends to examine the issue of discoursive regencies of photographic images, departing from an analysis of the visual representions of political figures, in the perspective of the poetical dimension in which human presence is invested of a publicitary meaning: these terms given, the topic of portraiture is examined in its aspect of character drawing, frequently associated with the ways in which action and suffering are visualy represented, in photojournalitic coverage. At the end, this article proposes a view on the pragmatic dimension of the political portraiture’s treatment of face-to-face, taking that as a standpoint for the approach of possible repercussions between political images, the canons of pictotial represnetation and ordinary conversation.
