The paper intends to understand how the series Rota 66 – A polícia que mata revisits and resignifies traumatic events, considering the ways in which media memory is engendered in the media. For that, it recovers the presence of memory in Bakhtinian thought, comparing it with the issue of updating memories of media objects in the narrative examined. Then it investigates the modalities of semantic-axiological refraction that produce senses of connection and continuity between past and present in the series. Finally, it inquires about the place occupied by memory of/in the media in spaces of criticism in media culture, problematizing the circulation of the audiovisual work in question.
