It’s proposed to identify the visibilities produced by the Unhappening in the newspapers O Estado de S. Paulo and Folha de S.Paulo between 2015 and 2020. Assuming the Unhappening as a narrative strategy of unmarked facts oriented to the daily life of ordinary people, we investigate the sociocultural issues highlighted by its coverage in terms of identity, migrations, environment, poverty, human rights and unemployment. The potential of the Unhappenings as news in issues and challenges of being – black, female, old, vulnerable, homeless – stands out and within the scope of the urgency of treating the humanitarian crisis as a transversal backdrop to reports about refugees and immigrants.
