This paper deals with the audiovisual pieces Cava, Caulim and Serra, made by Juliane Peixoto and Raoni, in the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais, Pará and Ceará, regions where the environmental destruction caused by mining and quarrying companies has resulted in immense ruined landscapes. For the purposes of analysis, we considered the concept of landscape from two perspectives: landscape as a pictorial genre – its expression as a dominion of space from the human point of view –, and landscape as fragmented expressions of anthropocentric ruins, to highlight a contemporary issue that the pieces instigate: which landscapes?
